Can someone enlighten me regarding television/digital hardware/software that is available for a G4 MMD and is the same compatible with G4 powerbook?

I bought Miglia's TVMax from Smalldog a few months ago and love it.

If you decide to buy something, check out all the reviews you can find. I darn-near bought junk until Kelly politely hinted otherwise.

It's not my day I have looked at the FAQ in the link you gave and it tells me that it will not work with USB 1.1 and that is what my G4 MDD has, can this be upgraded in any way?.
Looks a super piece of kit.

You can get USB 2 on your G4 by installing a USB 2.0 PCI card like this one from Sonnet.

There is someone in Heaven after all, I assumed (wrongly) that the USB had to be inbuilt.

Yeah, George, I upgraded to usb 2.0 also. I have a Quicksilver and everything works just great.
I had to wait 3 months for my TVMax unit until Miglia could manufacture it. Well worth it and a snap to use. I watch tv also but use it mostly to transfer vhs tapes to dvd.

BTW, I upgraded the USB on my MDD to 2.0 with the installation of a $12 PCI card.
