Bob, I thought this was going to be about my trusty old Mac. It's not time, yet.
Unlike kimmer, I do not understand why the TV signals must be changed. I'll have to read that part of the article again.
I noticed the same thing you did, kris. So, I have some questions. I might have to go see Mike at Radio Shack....
Any TV hooked up to cable or satellite will be ok without this new box?
How about a VCR hooked up to said TV?
Will the box be able to connect to a 30 year old black and white TV? (Yes, it still works. It was a wedding present. Yes, we still use it.)
What about my VCR that uses my HP monitor to view the TV signal, as well as the on screen programming? (It's connected to a conventional antenna.)
I do have a dual dish, but only one receiver right now.
I've been told (by an AS employee) that I will not be able to connect my VCR to a new Mac. What about a DVR machine? But one thing I don't know about those is whether you have to subscribe to a service like TiVo to use the recorder. Another is whether it has to be connected to cable or satellite.
I have time, but our main set is ONLY 6 or 7 years old. We only got it because the satellite installer dropped the older TV and broke it. His company paid for the new one. Besides, I'm not buying a different entertainment center to accomodate a differently shaped TV - no way!
It is sad that the rabbits will lose a source of income.
