OT - What would you call him?
« on: March 14, 2007, 03:02:35 AM »
This is my new dog - arrives soon.

No name, found wandering the streets.  Now rehomed with me, hopefully.

Any suggestions for names?

Groucho, Grumble, Gristle?

Thanks
Fx

I second that, Westie would be a cute name.
He looks like a dog who will have a humorous personality, a peppy and fun dog.
Just by looking at him, I feel that he is going to be fun!  We had a dog who would 'smile' and looks like he is smiling too.
Congrats on your new family member.

Oh, yes, Buddy is good!
I also thought of Charley, as I had an uncle who was skinny and strong and had some white whiskers.  And had a great sense of humor.

Seems to me "Lucky" would be appropriate. smile.gif

Looks exactly like Albert, a puppy I found stranded on a picnic table in the middle of winter.
Only he was brown. Wirey hair? Best dog I ever had, bar none. Bit of a tramp/free spirit though.

Good on ya for taking in the homeless. thumbup.gif

Don't know why, but my first thought was "Moe." dntknw.gif Other than that, I was thinking of borrowing from the movie Dances With Wolves and naming him "Two Socks."

If I ever get a dog again it's going to be named "Herkimer" because I used to have a "mudpuppy" (type of indigenious salamander in Kansas) and it was named Herkimer Mudpuppy in honor of my bosses (at the time) husband.  So this will be Herkimer Puppy or Herk for short.  Probably not likely to get a dog anytime soon!

Every time we see a Yellow Lab, we weaken a bit more.  Ours has been in doggie heaven for 13 months now, so we have begun to keep an eye on the newcomers in our dog pound.

Ours is #2 in the alumni gallery, Muffin.

The freedom of not having a dog for a while is nice too, kayaking with a dog is impossible, and we are doing a lot of biking and traveling when the weather is good.
But we are weakening!  Its not anywhere as much fun to be dog-less.

I could not imagine being without a dog.  I have two and I reckon if you are feeding two, you could feed three and my theory is that two terriers equal one larger dog.  I always had two large dogs so really three is nothing!!!!!

Funnily enough, my partner does not agree with this theory but what does he know!!

Two Shetland ponies equals one horse too!!!!

Anyway, I am tempted to call him Cholmondely Warner (Chumley Warner!).  Not sure, his name will come.

We have one pony called WInnie because she fell in the septic tank as a foal - Winnie the Poo!!!! It stuck.

Frances - My being without a dog for 22 years wasn't a choice; the townhouse I live in is supposed to be dog and cat free (although a bunch of people are sliding by).  If I could have afforded to live elsewhere I would have.   sad.gif
