What? You Ohioians ( I can see why you use "Buckeyes"! ) only had one team at the 'madness'! True, we only have one of our three left and maybe not even the local one, since I think they were playing you guys this afternoon. Oh well, the morning paper will surely blare the outcome. What a waste of ink. wallbash.gif Both the paper and the reporting of useless 'news'. Humbug! smile.gif "Root" for whomever/whatever you want, that's what all the pigs I know of do. dntknw.gif Always seemed rather uncivilized to me... Similar to the belief that some ancient warrior ancestor must have passed on enough genes to make some difference in ones capabilities. laugh.gif Exactly what is the relationship between a schools team and its prior/current alumni? Thinking.gif dntknw.gif Other than monetary, of course! We all know who has the highest salary at most higher education facilities (and it's not the most praiseworthy professor). I think I heard that your Columbus school had about a 1 in 10 graduation rate amongst its athletes. I think I could understand that at Vanderbilt. But it is closer to 1 in 4 at Tennessee and UoM. Oh well, I'm sure some of those dollars will trickle down to the English Department for more remedial classes! smile.gif

UCLA looks unstoppable. But, the Buckeyes looked much sharper too. I'd like to see those two in the final...!

I think they just got worn out; UCLA was running circles around them!  At least my nephew (in the KU Basketball Band) can come home and shave now.  I did get to see him last night on the game.

Ohio State looks pretty tight still; they should beat UCLA!   eusa_dance.gif

We always got a kick out of seeing our son in the stands at Mizzou games; basketball and football. That's neat that you saw your nephew. We have a niece at Illinois who sits in the student "Orange Crush" section. We have yet to see her on TV. Her cousin, our nephew, is there too, but not in that group.

Like your newest new avatar. Are you rotating them?

Oh yeah, we were pulling for UCLA. tongue.gif

WOW.gif another #1 seed goes down. What a game!  Georgetown is going to be very tough for the Buckeyes. However; I have faith in them.

Georgetown will be a more interesting matchup for the Buckeyes than North Carolina would have been. Then I hope it's UCLA. I'm tired of Florida. But that Horford kid is a good player, and seems to be an outstanding young man as well.

I was exploring the idea of the Fool as shown in the Tarot deck and looked around for images of fools, clowns, and jesters.  There is something in a book by Richard Grossinger that got me started on this.

That is, as I recall, from an old comic called the Jester or something like that (I've had the image for awhile); if there isn't enough detail to tell the big head is the moon and the Jester is draped across him!  I tried putting up a different picture of myself that I really hated and called it my evil twin!

Sour grapes?! That would seem to imply that I gave a 'hoot/root'! smile.gif Perhaps you didn't notice that my post was before the losing game, not afterward. dntknw.gif No change as to my opinion of 'sports', especially the 'educational' leagues, as a result of these games. Frankly, these two posts contain the sum of all my comments about any sports related event in my 63+ years! laugh.gif I just don't get the vicarious relationships, I guess. dntknw.gif

Or Knowville, or Champaign, or Columbia, or....

The French are said to be master conversationalists, discussing ideas and concepts of high-minded levels. But, that's because they only have "soccer" to talk about! We have baseball, basketball, real football, hockey, boxing, golf, NASCAR, Indy, Kentucky Derby, etc. wink.gif

Maybe that's my problem, Gregg, I wasn't aware that conversations were limited to 'sports'! wallbash.gif smile.gif tongue.gif
