An act of desperation.

Exactly...
Really sad that those multinationals just keep on thinking that by putting DRM's in everything they produce will actually benefit their sales doh.gif
Now they even start to make their players worthless for some discs (either DVD's or CD's).
It's not enough that some DVD's (not only from Sony, but mainly by them) do not play on a (portable) macintosh, giving me a hard time to get the disc out, but now even portable hardware will be put asside to play certain discs.
And how far does this go?
You buy one player let's say this year, just to find out that cause of security matters they have to exclude that player in all new DVD tittles from next year?

Just bad thumbdown.gif

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

*blink* *blink*

So let me get this straight... After shooting itself in the foot so publicly and catastrophically when its CD copy protection ended up installing rootkits on people's computers...

...Sony has just reloaded the gun and shot itself in the foot again??!
A whole lot about me: www.xeromag.com/franklin.html
