Have just been introduced to Gogol Bordello  Be careful, extremely addictive! "Start Wearing Purple, wearing purple..."
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

Well, at least I know where the Gieco "Caveman" theme comes from. The one where he's walking on the traveling walkway at the airport. smile.gif

Amazing what one can learn at TS! Not that it is all extremely useful! laugh.gif

Man. . .I'm in BIG trouble here!  A couple of weeks ago, I went and picked up an SACD copy of "Synchronicity" by the Police, and the sound was soooo stunning, I picked up a copy of "Ghost In The Machine" (also by the Police). . . Followed by a copy of Barb Jungr's "Every Grain of Sand" (Jazz versions of a bunch of Dylan's songs), and in a few minutes I'm going to sit down and listen to the mono version of The Byrds' first album, "Mr. Tamborine Man"!  We're talking about a serious "Jones" here, folks!  I'm gonna have to take out a mortgage on the house if I don't curtail myself. . . sos.gif  Oh yeah, and I just found a copy of Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" on sacd on eBay. . .

Gogol Bordello is great; I'm going to have to hunt up some more of their stuff!  I heard their "purple" song on a move I was watching last weekend!

Al Stewart's Year of the Cat album on the iPod... Well I was. Would you believe I hadn't even finished typing the title when the battery went flat ....  wallbash.gif wallbash.gif
The version I have has a 'making of' interview track with Stewart. Apparently the guitarist on On the Border was taken on as a session pianist and it was only in conversation Stewart learned he played Spanish guitar. Stewart says Peter White went on to become a star of 'smooth jazz' in the States. And he says he recalls that White recorded the On the Border solo in one take!

Van Morrison's St. Dominick's Preview a minute ago.  Now Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's Four Way Street!  Good stuff!

For the past week I have not been able to stop (re) listening to The Stone Roses, except when I've been in class.

"In class"? Yep, the sandyman has been doing some IT training.  Going fine so far.  I'll keep TS posted when I finish.

Apart from the "Roses",  The Arctic Monkeys and The Editors.

The Editors are OK, but don't listen if you're feeling even slightly depressed smile.gif.  They sometimes make Leonard Cohen sound as if he's on Prozac wink.gif
