I might add that there is a Carlisle Inn on the property and pretty new.
You can get info on it on the left side of RHP's link above. Click on the Carlisle Inn link. No, not a Ritz Carlton, but very nice, with an Amish flavor.
Click it here:
http://www.dhgroup.com/en/sc/sc-carlisle-inn.phpThis restaurant and Inn are in the heart of Amish country with horse-drawn buggies and men with beards and suspenders. And the ladies wear bonnets and dresses,
never jeans.
There are several grocery stores west of the restaurant that offer the old style products, including excellent cheeses made by the Amish in the area.
I don't know how long this lifestyle will last. "Civilization" is creeping in. And that's too bad, because these Amish and Mennonites really live the close-to-nature and the land.
You can pick up area maps and brochures at the restaurant and Inn.
Come one, come all! Bring your spouses or other guests. I am going to talk my wife into coming.
I will reserve table(s) for us if I know how many are coming.
How about you, Harv, and you Xabd? And you ladies of TS?
Come on over and enjoy the lifestyle while you still can!
The more the merrier!
