Don't know if the new ones are any easier to decipher.

We will always have this problem.

The resourcefulness of the bad guys always outstrips the efforts to foil them.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

If they're seeking tests of visual acuity – especially in we "presbyopes     whistling.gif   – then they're succeeding. It will surely limit site registration (maybe better said, "sight registration"!)

The closer these "things" are to mimicing an Ishihara Test, the less useful they would seem to become.

Protanopes arise, you have nothing to lose but your web access!

Clever renderings, however. "How DO they do that?"

Sir Richard, I no that you are well aware of the TS rules against the discussion of Religion. Please edit/change the above post to comply with that rule or suffer the consequences. That is, if you can 'see' your way to do that! "Learned" two more words today, and isn't that a nice voice at Websters?

Speaking of "Dictionaries" and "gotchas", I don't seem to be able to access the "Dictionary" in my small 'collection' of Widgets. I suppose some are just sulking from my general dislike and disuse of them, but now I'd like to get that one, at least, to work. It's in the list of them in /main Volume/Library/Widgets. It's listed and 'checked' in the Manage Widgets widget. A restart doesn't seem to help, nor does double-clicking its icon. dntknw.gif

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

I was told some time ago the there are many folks working on a biometric solution. http://www.eyenetwatch.com/Biowebserver/fi...hentication.htm

Sony has a Micro Vault http://www.sony.net/Products/Media/Microvault/usm-c.html and there are others that will soon extend their offerings to the internet.

I was hoping to hear something from Steve jobs on the subject in Leopard but it wasn't included, though it could be in the remaining new offerings. wink.gif

From the original article:
QUOTE
Yet some of that activity can be ethically murky. Aleksey Kolupaev, 25, works for an Internet company in Kiev, Ukraine, and in his spare time, with his friend Juriy Ogijenko, he develops and sells software that can thwart captchas by analyzing the images and separating the letters and numbers from the background noise. They charge $100 to $5,000 a project, depending on the complexity of the puzzle.

According to the caption under his picturee, Aleksey sells his software to legit companies and to spammers. Gee ... thanks; and gee ... look where he lives!

Well, in general it's still not perfectly readable but it's extremaly hard to break, that's for sure!
