There are several ways to sell. You can list it on eBay. You can join join LEM-Swap for buying & selling Mac stuff. http://groups.google.com/group/lemswap After you join, post a FS (For Sale). List it on your local Craig's List - http://www.craigslist.com/ One advantage of Craig's list is that it can be pick-up, instead of costly shipping & a buyer can check it out.

To get an idea of its "worth":

Smiley, go with Craigslist. The Boston Craigslist is pretty active. I got rid of loads of stuff in no time flat before I moved - though I was giving stuff away!

Price around the average SOLD price for comparable models on eBay, remembering that your buyer won't have to pay $40 or more for shipping. Whatever you do, don't overprice though - it will not sell. From a quick perusal of the completed items on eBay vs the prices listed on the G4 Tower Value Guide (for the Quicksilver 933 as an example) it would appear that they sell for somewhat LESS than the values given in the value guide, so do check.

If you're not an eBay member already, you will need to register in order to see the sold prices. (no charge for doing this) You cannot tell the sold prices from the active listings, as many things sell in the last few seconds of an auction.

Also, if you're new to eBay, it is usually good to build up at least a bit of reputation as a buyer before attempting to sell something - particularly a higher-priced item like a computer. When I, and most experienced eBayers go looking for something, sellers without established reputations are generally not people we want to send large amounts of money! Dealing face-to-face on Craigslist is different; as a buyer, I get to see and probably try out the item before parting with my money.

Where's Parker? He collects old Macs.

Maybe it's a "vintage" model he would want.

Parker, are you there??? :looking:

Ouch. You aren't going to like hearing this, but... I wouldn't pay more than $150, tops, for that system. Computers don't hold their value well.

At $650, you want more money for a seven-generations-obsolete computer than Apple charges for a low-end Mac Mini, which will blow the doors off that system.

Sorry...

If you asking for our opinion Smiley?

I semi agree with Tacit, but I see value in the peripherals and added OS if there is software CDs and hardware upgrades. Shipping will be close to $100.00, so it will probably fetch $350ish + S/H.
If you really want $650 you may need to sell it in pieces.

Ah... I know I know. It's very difficult letting go of my baby  sad.gif Thank you for the feedback. I actually tried the Mac2Sell website before I thought of the price. My little computer has been very good to me. (sniff)
