Thank you. Love that car!!!
I used to love working in wood a long time before I became a jeweler. I always left a mess on my father's workbench. I couldn't help it; there was just so much sawdust.
w/re to wood these days, I use driftwood to make little bas-reliefs. As far as decorating goes, I've become a collector of bamboo (cellulose too, after all) to the extent that my apartment looks kinda like a hut in the South Seas.
I've seen some really amazing things made from bamboo. A year or so someone came up with a bamboo car, and a bamboo bicycle, which seems only logical. There is some extreme silliness too. Take a look at "bamboo craziness."
This thread is making me feel very silly, which is the preferred state given my generally stressful life these days. I just thought of something "woody" that made me smile: A Mad Magazine "article" about a woman who had made her house entirely from
sandpapered peach pits.
The idea of that can't be beat for silliness. I could never forget about it, even after all these years. It's inconceivable that there could be something more ridiculous. It still makes me smile
