Internal DVD jumper settings?
« on: August 08, 2007, 05:14:14 PM »
Hi ,

Just received a Pionner 112 D DVR...

Would like to  pull out the cd rom burner in my DA to put it back in my yikes, ( is it possible...?) than plug  the dvd in the DA

Anything special to take care of...what about the jumper setting for the new internal DVD ?

Or as there's a second bay in the DA , could i keep both cd/dvd in the computer?

What do you suggest? Thinking.gif

Thanks

Unfortunately you can't fit two full size opticals in the DA. The space below the CD drive is for a Zip which is a little smaller.

You can put the Pioneer in the DA. If you had another optical drive you would set the Pioneer as master but that isn't necessary in your case.

I also found this thread that mentions a firmware patch you may need to apply to get the 112 to be recognized. I would try it without first.

Here is the Patchburn site

I see no reason why you couldn't put the old CD drive into the Yikes.

Here are instructions for replacing your DA CD drive.

Got no other optical in the DA...
From what i read on the net,  it seems it's better to put it in master mode but can find a pioneer site to see the jumper setting configuration...

Why don't they put a little reminder on the drive itself like some hard drives... dntknw.gif

Thanks a lot for all the infos
