Removing original post in a thread
« on: August 16, 2007, 03:54:20 AM »
I seem to remember it used to be possible for the original poster to delete a thread through the edit facility as long as nobody had replied. Can't see any way of doing that now, but wonder if I am missing something. My reason for asking is (or was, depending how quickly Admin get to it) in the Community section....

About the best a member can do is what you did Neil.  Wipe the post, and ask for the thread to be deleted.  Members can't deleted but can edit.

Nice idea about the "delete before any responses".  I'll check it out.

oh, yeah, I deleted the thread in question.
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

Thanks Jennie. Not that it was anything offensive. My humour had just gone even more off the wall than it usually does! smile.gif

You keep your humour on the wall over there? Thinking.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

I keep my humor in my pocket with my Leatherman and only get it out when I "really" need it!  biggrin.gif

Once, when I was really bad, I erased the entire first entry in a thread of mine and replaced it with something else in the first 10 minutes or so!  Haven't tried that lately but I would think it still possible or what's the point of "full edit"?
