Dear Francine,
I'm sorry to be a little late here, but I want to add my condolences. My father, too, was 84 years young when he died. We were extremely close, although geography separated us in later years. You may know about the kaddish, the Hebrew prayer for those who have lost a loved one. It is a beautiful prayer, which begins with "Magnified and glorified is His great name" -- an ancient Aramaic poem. The last line, however, is Hebrew and comes from the Book of Job - "May He who makes peace in high places make peace for us all..." It is good to remind ourselves at this difficult time that there is no mention of "death" at all in the prayer. It is a prayer of life, love, and faith in the future. May He shower many blessings on you and your family in the future.
