Beer (Booze) Makes you clever

Thanks for thinking of me in this matter; maybe if I drink the right amount of beer I can get smart enough to work out the problems I'm having uninstalling VISTA (and installing XP) on some LENOVO laptops.  It's taking way to long to do (7 CD's loaded into the restore area, restoration to main partition and then I can bring down the clone image of XP so all the laptops will be the same).

My step-dad has always contended that stout and porter were excellent for the thought processes!  smile.gif

QUOTE
Porter – The Porter’s name comes from the Porters at London’s Victoria Station. They would frequently mix several styles of beer into one glass and drink large quantities of the mixture. A style was eventually created to approximate this blend and came to be known as a Porter. Arthur Guinness and Sons was the first brewer to offer a Porter commercially. Later on, they increased the alcohol content of the Porter and the new drink became known as the Stout Porter (which eventually became Stout). The Porter is a good beer for those who want a full flavored, dark beer without the bitterness from the roasted barley that a Stout now possesses.

OG (Original Gravity): 1.045–1.060
FG (Finished Gravity): 1.008–1.016
IBU’s (International Bittering Units): 25-40
SRM (Standard Reference Method): 30+
Alcohol (% by volume): 4.5-6.0
Examples: Anchor Brewing Co.’s Anchor Porter, Samuel Smith’s Taddy Porter, Fuller Smith and Turner’s Fuller’s London Porter

QUOTE
Introduced as a member of the Winter Classics Mix Pack in 2004, Samuel Adams® Holiday Porter with its rich malt complexity has become a favorite among our winter seasonal brews. In total, five varieties of malted barley are used in the brewing process including a variety of German malt called Carafa®. The Carafa® gives our Holiday Porter its smooth, roasted malt character. Add generous portions of imported hops to the mix and one has a brew that is both robust and high in drinkability.
Carafa® is a registered trademark of Weyermann Malt, Bamburg, Germany.

Back in the 90's, I was a pretty good at darts. Couldn't hit nuthin' sober but with exactly six beers (light) I couldn't miss...Most valuable player and all that. Seven or five didn't help, but six was magic. I concluded that six beers was the right amount to dull the self distructive, try too hard, process. Of course, my team mates had to help me with the math.
...But I didn't have to use the "A car went by with it's brights on" disclaimer. dry.gif
