Need hard drive for old iMac
« on: October 07, 2007, 03:26:50 PM »
Friend of mine is still using a fruity iMac (egg shaped). ATA hard drive makes strange noises and is flaky. Will no doubt quit completely any day now.

He can't spend the money for a new drive, let alone a new or used computer. I got rid of all my "spare parts" when I moved from Kansas to Indiana last year, so I'm begging. Can anyone out there help?

Thanks!

Joe

I'm not a complete idiot -- a few parts are missing!

Hi Joe,

PM me and I'll see what we can work out. I may have a drive for you, but I need to know which model iMac.

that's what I figured, might have a 40 GB Maxtor that I could wipe that is not being used anymore.

Joe, let me know what system you want on it, I might be able to re-format it and send it out.
