I got more of a run around from UofO then you did
Yes, they aren't very keen about shipping.
The run around I got was that Fred said he had to send me all the stuff as a FAX before we could proceed, so I ran around finding out who had a FAX and would open after 4:30pm ... called back to give Fred the number, he was busy so I got Brian who said "No, you have to talk to accting before I can FAX anything." So he transferred me. Accting said, "NO. We take your info, approve the sale and then we FAX the info to Brian, who will complete the paperwork and send it to shipping." LOL! I gave the lady in accting all my info, and then asked to be transferred back to Brian. I told him what she'd said and he said he still needed all the info from me and had to FAX me stuff. So I went through it all *again* (glad the battery on my cell phone was fully charged)
Finally, Brian said he would FAX me this approval sheet. Which he did 30 min. later. The place that did the FAXing for us is a mart with fresh espresso and the owners are friends, so we sat and chatted and sipped coffee and waited. I filled out the papers, correcting the spelling of my town, and FAXed it all back. Brian called me back, said he had the stuff and would get the info to the shipping guy and it would go out on Friday.

I live close enough to Eugene ( 2.5 hours or so one-way) that I would have driven there to pick it up....
NO. WAY. You have a PM.

So keeping this in mind I am Very Nice to the salespeople (like I always endeavor to do anyway...), I get the name of the salesperson I work with (his/her name is also on the paperwork) and I get in touch after I receive the computer and let them know how much I appreciate it and their efforts on my behalf. It's the least I can do when I am saving over $1000 on a computer purchase.
Yup. I never lost my temper - even after the 4th phone call. LOL! I did thank Brian for all his help and his patience. I'd not thought about calling him to thank him after it arrives, but I'll try to do that next week.
Thanks again for the heads up!
