iPod Touch

I got to play with the iPod touch today at the Apple Store. I believe I'll be getting one this week. Wow...what a cool device!

Anyone else thinking of getting one?

I have an iPod Mini which I use rarely, mostly because I don't have a hard wired connection in my car. The Kensington dock I use at home works pretty well but I still have to control everything from the iPod.

I think that for my personal use, the iPhone will be my next "toy" when my current phone plan contract ends. Then, just like the guy in one of the new iPhone ads, I'll just grab my all-in-one device and go.

Hopefully by that time, I'll have a receiver in my car with an iPod connector. whistling.gif

Hi, John

I got one the first day it arrived at the Apple Store. I love it. Still wait for a case, though.

I just got an "enhanced" 80GB 5th generation iPod so it will likely be years before I get another iPod! And at this point I need at least 40GB to hold my ripped CDs, etc... with a little room to spare.

Bruce, you wouldn't happen to have one of those "old fashion" cassette players in your car would you?  A twenty dollar Sony cassette adapter works fine with our iPod. CDs players without a port are out of luck as far as I know, otherwise I would be using the iPod in my Toyota pickup.

I have a car radio that has a port for the iPod. I love it!Oh, and as far as the iPhone goes, I don't want to pay any more to AT&T.

Once my contract with Verizon is up, it won't make much difference who I pay if I want to continue having a cell phone. Of course, anything could happen between now and the end of the Verizon contract. If I decide in the end to keep using a regular cell phone, the iTouch would be on my wish list. toothgrin.gif

The Sony CD-radio in my car will only work with an iPod FM transmitter. It doesn't work very well at all. I nearly bought a JVC HD radio today but one store didn't have the correct wiring harness and another store didn't have the iPod connector. I took that as a sign to not spend the money.
