Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

Are you going to be one of the "average" (according to AP) people who are going to consume 4,500 calories today?   jawdrop.gif Boggles my mind! I just finished my exercises so I can indulge in about half of that without having to diet for a couple of weeks, afterwards!  Have a great one, and don't forget the Alka Seltzer or Pepto. . .

Enjoy your day, Ed! ...and all TS'rs.

I'm another who won't be consuming mega-doses of calories today.

Just had a bit on TV from Plymouth saying that the 26 males who survived the voyage and the first year have 20 million descendants in North America.  Guess that's because there was no telly for several hundred years biggrin.gif

Have a great weekend all of you, from all of us in the 'old country'. thumbup.gif

I've cooked and prepared all those calories today; but company is late, dinner is in a holding pattern, and my appetite is asleep. wink.gif

Hope is was a great Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I'm with you Ed. Did my exercises, and took small portions of some of the tasty feast selections my wife prepared. I don't know how to count calories, but I suspect I also consumed less than half of that outrageous amount.

I think I did a lot better about eating; of course we haven't cooked our home turkey yet (it my be thawed by Saturday) but I think the key to it was "not" being in the same place with a cooking bird for all those hours.  I'm not, as far as I know, a descendant from the Mayflower but my mom's family did come over on the Ark and the Dove (1634) and some of them could've modeled for the picture on the oatmeal box!  smile.gif

My celebration is going to take place tonight (Friday, the 23rd) when the Jayhawks beat the Missouri Tigers.  I think we're about due; and our coach could eat their coach (turkey forget about it)!  smile.gif

Jumping the gunug a bit, aren't you John? They aren't televising the game until the 24th. The stadium will be empty tonight. wink.gif

Let's see, a Tiger going up against Tweety Bird..... hmmmmm

I hope I can stay up to watch the end of the game. My son has to work. sad.gif He only had one person he could ask to switch with him (since no one else had the night off who wasn't also working at the same time he was scheduled for the rest of the week) and that didn't fly.

Obviously I was jumping the gun; I guess Mangino's boys didn't want it bad enough and he couldn't suit up an go out and play himself.  I couldn't stand to watch it all; well actually my wife thought I was getting too &%$&# excited so we watched a DVD throughout a lot of the second half!  They attempted a comeback but didn't have it in the end!  Luckily I didn't bet on the game!

I couldn't stand to watch it all...

I tried, but the sandman robbed me of noticing the 4th quarter scoring, except for the final safety. Oh, sorry. devilishgrin.gif

I thought both teams did quite well, but the officials stunk. Of course, the bad calls I noticed all went against Missouri... The interception at the goal line should have been a touchback: the kid caught the ball, and then the second foot down touched the goal line! But, they drove 98 yards anyway. Oh, sorry! devilishgrin.gif

They called a cheesy "unsportsmanlike" on Mizzou that was the reaction, not the initial shove, neither of which was deserving of a penalty. And, they called defensive pass interference on Mizzou for bumping a receiver just before the ball arrived, and then failed to call it on Kansas a few minutes later for the same thing! Even the announcers were dumbfounded about that. But, it didn't matter, the Tigers scored again anyway. Oh, sorry again. devilishgrin.gif

It was a well contested game. Missouri just has a better team. No apologies.... smile.gif
