Well, one of those games wasn't so awesome. sad.gif

The bowl selections will be interesting, to say the least.

Why not Hawaii??? But then, who else?

I suppose the BCS "Formula" will tell us.

In "certain circles", right now, is it assumed that the Illini will go to the Rose Bowl for the Big 10?

I'd put my money on the Bucks vs LSU as the choice for Naworllns, since I think it's unlikely that "merely" being undefeated is enough to convince the Mainlanders that Hawaii is even a State! Too bad. UH deserves the best for its team this year.

The 5/6 hour (depending) time difference from Neuw Yawk City means "forever", apparently, to many "Opinion Makers" (whatta phrase!).

Congrats to all you Buckeye fans. clap.gif

And to my Illini! thumbup.gif The Rose Bowl doesn't have the same cachet with this BCS stuff now.

I had to come online to find out where Missouri's team is headed. (Dallas - Jan. 1) I think they should have been picked over Kansas, a team they defeated on the field.

But, the whole BCS scene was a mess this year! Hawaii deserved better. They have to win again to prove it.

Here's a link to all of them:
http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/bowl_ga...l_schedule.html

It will be tough for Illinois against USC.
I hear that LSU is favored by a field goal. I suspect it will be a wider margin.

The Big Ten has not fared well in recent years. I think that will continue.
Purdue has a shot at avoiding a Big Ten shutout.

I agree Gregg...Illinois will have their hands full with USC.  However; I think Wisconsin can beat Tennessee. Yes, Purdue should take Central Michigan.

In the BCS Championship game...well you know how I feel. GO BUCKS!!!

Dolphin (and Gregg):

Did you look at that roster? What a thrilling compendium of athleticism is highlighted therein.

Dolphin, you may want to go to Naw-lins. For myself,  my choice would be to be dazzled by the Meinike Care Care Bowl in Charlotte, or the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise (on NY Eve – bring your mittens), or the Chick-fil-A Bowl . . . what? in Atlanta.

Now there will be some contests for the certified football aficionado!

What has the "system" come to.

In the Good Olde Days, there were 4 bowls on New Years: Rose, Orange, Sugar and Cotten . . . and all was right with the world! Sortof.

Oh, well, nostalgia just ain't what it used to be, I guess.

Isn't part of the problem that the Big Ten schedule ends earlier than the other conferences? Ohio State will have been off for almost a month and a half before the BCS Championship. The Big Ten should either start later or add games to get some parity.

That could be a small part of it. In recent bowl games, the bigger difference has been team speed and quickness. That then lends itself to a different style of play, both on offense and defense. After all, you have to win the conference, so you have to defend Big Ten offenses.

Hey, HEY!!!!!!  I've just come back from the 3 day islandwide party and saw this thread!  LOL.... Not really, just busy with preparations for baby William to arrive in the next 2 to 3 weeks.  Sorry it took so long to reply.

What a season this has become.  A dream season for the Warriors and the State of Hawaii who adopted the thoughts and feelings of the players "Believe".

That was a crazy game, eh, Rich?  Down 21 zip in the first quarter,  to allow only 7 more points the rest of the way and have the Warriors score 35 points is a testiment to their efforts all season.

Unreal how OSU and LSU fell right into the NC, great job.

Gregg, we may have had a better chance if we actually had takers of better caliber this year to play against and had still gone undefeated.  To bad Michigan and Arizona State pulled out of their contracts with us.  BUT, we are still very happy to have an opportunity to play in the Sugar.  Can you say "Pass Da Shuga!"  To my surprise when I heard we are playing Georgia it gave me a real sense of "OMG!"  lol!  The Warriors have their work cut out for them in the Sugar.

Thanks guys for the praises and GL to all for their respective teams in your upcoming bowl games!

GO WARRIORS!!!!

Yes it is part of the problem. However; I do believe Coach Tressel is going to have them ready this year. The players have said throughout the year...NOT AGAIN! I think it will be quite different than last year. GO BUCKS!!!
