Or you could have a mobile(cell)-phone style keyboard... Thankfully, for the rest of us, it comes with "text translation" software for turning "txtspk" into English. rolleyes.gif

Can't check your link, SB, because I'm at work and my "Flashplayer is out of date". And we're not allowed to download unauthorised software on to our office Win98 PCs. Can't for the life of me think why not biggrin.gif

This is the sixth keyboard that I've purchased from logitech, they're great. I used to buy them for their programmability, one button to ON_OFF, email, browser,  music, photos..... for those folks who had trouble finding applications. This one is for personal use. My order has been in for months, waiting for the release, waiting for the software. Finally as of Nov 26th it's ready!!!
I sent my last programmed logitech Media Center to California with the IMac DV and had to use the Apple OEM while waiting for the Wave to be released. I like MS's curved keyboard OK, but the action and palm support is not as good as the logitech line.
Some folks have had software trouble but I have not, neither in OS9, jaguar, panther or tiger. Leopard is another story, though the new LMC 2.4.0 software is Leopard compatible.

How is the keyboard action? I currently use a Macally iceKey because it has a "feel" like a portable Mac keyboard.  The Apple keyboards have too much travel for my taste...

I pair a gel keyboard wrist-rest with the iceKEY, so the Wave's built-in wrist-rest is also interesting to me...

I assume that there are wired and wireless versions; which do you use?  Does the wireless version have a USB port for a mouse?

Mayo, I ordered the "wired type" and have used both at Office depot, where I have a privileged access. The action is short and quiet, unlike the Apple OEM board. The wrist pad is comfortable and suits both of us.

If you want a Wireless, the Combo Board and Mouse works off the same bluetooth dongle. We have the "Revolution" mouse which is one step up from the mouse included in the Combo, they are both premium products.
If I were to purchase a new set today I would buy the Wireless Wave Combo, it's a good deal! wink.gif

it should be here on Tuesday, I'll give you an update then. I don't expect any surprises, I've been using these keyboads since OS8.6. hi.gif

I was able to try a Wave keyboard today and I am afraid that I was unimpressed with the action and feel of the keys... "plasticy" is the best way I can describe it. I'm sticking with the iceKEY and Seriously Considering giving iListen a try so I can abandon using a keyboard for most operations, particularly writing.

Fair enough, I think RHconsult has just purchased iListen, he may have some new insight.
I use it on OS 10.3 now and Dragon mobile on XP

Me thinks that I should start a separate iListen thread...

Don't get me wrong, there are things that I think I might like regarding the Wave keyboard.  But the keys were a tad mushy feeling.  After using an iBook for several years I became accustomed to and came to prefer the feel of the keyboards on portable Macs.

I get the same feeling on any desktop keyboard as you, but  this keyboard is another anny-mule.

It came today and it works better on my desk than it did on Jake's @ office depot. wink.gif

I've seen a keyboard in MacConnection that has a USB port on the top. It lets you "plug in" without having to fumble around the back of your computer. Good idea!

The Wave keyboard and software has worked flawlessly since Monday. Smooth, quiet and comfortable. Jane, who was the intended receiver anywho, has adjusted to it without skipping a key. The Hot Keys, F-Keys and Media Keys all work as intended. The keys I programmed for additional frequently used applications, like Quickbooks, Filemaker, WebX, and that Troubleshooting key that brings up Dick Utility instantly all held and work as programmed. It's the best Keyboard I've ever used.  toothgrin.gif
