Darwin Award for man who's still alive....
« on: December 11, 2007, 06:12:44 AM »
The Darwin Awards, about people meeting their end in bizarre ways, a regular feature in these forums, has been topped by a story in Britain about a man returning from the dead in a most bizarre way. And his name is Darwin...

John Darwin went missing five years ago, his damaged canoe being washed  up on the North Sea coast. He was eventually declared dead by a coroner, and last year his wife went to live in Panama.

Last week, John Darwin turned up at a London police station saying he thought he might be a missing person and had no idea where he had been for the last five years.

Then a national paper turned up a picture of him and his wife taken with a Panama estate agent last year; it had been used for publicity shots and apparently, was found by someone who simply did an internet search using his and his wife's names and 'Panama'.

She is now appearing in court accused of fraud (for the insurance money)

Most of the background stories leading up to today have vanished from the media sites - because Mrs Darwin has been charged - but the New York Times can provide this for you....

I read about this somewhere.* Turns out he was actually hiding out in a vacant apartment in the same building he and his wife lived in. Their two adult sons have said they want no further contact with either of them.

*I guess it was in our Sunday paper.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

That request shouldn't be hard to supply. Probably didn't have too much 'contact' for the last five years, anyway! wallbash.gif And they probably didn't get invited to Panama, either! laugh.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

This has been a popular "odd" story on the net recently.

As to odd deaths...well, read on.

A joker in Seaton Carew, the Darwins' home town, has produced a new road sign at the entrance to the town...
