Too bad you can't get the bank to send you cash via the internet too! tongue.gif (but of course, cash may eventually become obsolete...)

Wow! Depositing checks without going to the bank!

I've been doing it for years via the U.S. Mail...

Deposit what checks? tongue.gif

We've had direct deposit for several years. We use either a credit or debit card for 99% of our transactions.

Cash is only spendable at the local coffee shop. biggrin.gif

Some of us still get checks...one doesn't tend to have direct deposit for consulting work, unfortunately! Since I only live 4 short blocks from my bank, by the time I scanned both sides of the check and sent it in, I could probably have gone and been halfway back and gotten some exercise too, but for some this may be very useful. Faster than the US mail too. wink.gif

I don't use cash for much either - I get airmiles on my credit card and we always pay the bills in full, so it's been a good deal; we've averaged at least two tickets every couple of years for quite some time now.

No consulting work, but I do get a yearly birthday check. I tuck that in my purse and when we get near the credit union I ask Sneakers to park the car and I go in and cash my check -- and then the green foldy stuff is mine, mine, MINE ... precioussssssss. biggrin.gif

If I were to scan and deposit, it would wind up as "ours" -- and that's no fun at all.  Devilish2.gif

We use our Amazon visa and then get refunds to spend at Amazon ... which amazingly, I also consider mine, mine, MINE.

ROFL!

I don't like going to the bank. They never have enough tellers on duty. My bank used to have a "5 star service guarantee". What a joke. If you weren't helped in 5 minutes, you get 5 bucks.  I called it the "5 dollar guarantee". They stopped doing it. I guess it cost too much.

Our payroll checks are direct deposit, but I get various checks on a regular basis. Since I work within walking distance of two branches, I cash my checks on my lunch break. I take a walk most every day after lunch anyway, so it's more convenient than driving to a bank on Saturday before noon.

I used to do the bank by mail thing too. But, I don't have a scanner. Maybe a fax would do.
