I downloaded the Mac beta (voice) from yahoo today and it works as advertised with both Macs and their internal mic(s). I had a couple of older mics from a 9500 that have different mini plugs than what will fit in either the PB or the IMAC,(bigger) so I sallied forth to the local radio shack and purchased a "computer mic" and while the plug fits, the mic does not work.
Well being the OLD techie that I am I found in my parts drawer a mini plug that is the correct size and with a pair of side cutters and a sharp knife I proceeded to jury rig one of the old mics.
Now I have a plug that fits both machines wired to an old Mac mic and guess what?? It still don't work.
This leads me to believe that the "pick-up" for the newer machines must be different than the older ones, and probably pc's too.
Can anyone point me in the rite direction here??
