Roundup of web browsers for OS X

http://www.macworld.com/article/132681/2008/03/browsers.html

There is only one in that list of 10 which I don't currently have on my Mac - DevonAgent 2.3. tongue.gif (But who on earth wants to spend $50 on a web browser when there are so many excellent free choices???)

And they forgot one more Webkit one:

http://www.sunrisebrowser.com/en/

It's incredibly fast and has a couple of nice features others don't have, like setting the size for windows to open in - but it does have a rather odd bookmarking scheme. Instead of drop down lists and nested folders and being able to sort them, they all show up as images of the bookmarked page along either the right hand side or bottom of the screen. Although this makes visual recognition a snap, it's not too good if you've got hundreds of them, so I doubt that this will ever become my principal browser, but interesting nonetheless. It also doesn't have a Google search field in the toolbar, which has become a necessity for me!!

And how many of the nine do you use?

I upgraded Safari, and it's the only browser on my Mini. So far, I don't notice anything different.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Interesting article. I have 4 of the 10. Regularly use 2: FF and Safari.

Sometimes I have to move to Safari due to add-ons that block stuff in FF. wink.gif

Every once in a while I find a site that won't play nice with FF, and Safari will work okay.

I use Camino once in a while.

I have SeaMonkey because I used it for a demo at the local computer club, but I've not really used it as a browser.

I still remember when we had the choice of IE or IE. tongue.gif

Regularly - actually none of those 9 exactly! I usually use Webkit (nightly build) and Firefox 3, Beta 4. wink.gif Living on the bleeding edge in browser-land is a little different than living there with other more mission-critical apps!

I probably divide my time almost equally between the two these days.

I have all the other for when I feel like really running my web designs through their paces. I do that on the PC side too, running Parallels, with IE and FF and I suppose I should really do it with Opera there too. And get my hubby to check things out on the Linux side of things from work, if I really want to be thorough.

More or less like Kimmer smile.gif

I use FF almost all the time but use Safari when FF blocks some content or when I want to use Services>Textedit/Yojimbo.

I'd love to try out FF 3 beta4 but it breaks Browsersync sad.gif. A bummer if you have more than one Mac (or Mac/s + PC/s)

Me, it's Macs all the way now though smile.gif . Even the SWMBO has been converted.
