We have yet to "restore' the database as opposed to 'repair' it. The former would lose posts back to the date the database is backed up. The latter should only fix minor problems which on the face of it not lose posts but could result in things not being recorded properly or a pref possibly not recognized.

The problem of posts not being properly checked as read I believe is a small bug in our version of the forum software that crops up now and then. There is an upgrade which we will apply one of these days when we feel adventurous. smile.gif

Imagine my surprise when I clicked this thread expecting to read some Juicy Gossip about the latest TS outrages only to discover that you guys are talking about some boring outages...

Booooo! False advertising!!! Misleading thread title to entice us to read about technical issues!   Groaner.gif

I suppose that it is my own fault... the "outrages" are probably confined to the community forum, which I never seem to get around to visiting...

TS outrages
These seem to be caused by a bug in each of our current software installs. We are making a serious and continuing attempt to breed this trait out, however. In the mean time, please choose one or several corporate headquarters listed on the <"Outrageous" page> to vent you emotions in a safe and non-destructive manner.

If you have other comments to provide, <please use this link> and answer a few questions. You will receive an immediate* confirmation of your message and an answer in as little as two business days.**

Thanks,
TS Management Team smile.gif

I guess it's time to 'fess up'. happy.gif

After what seemed to me a r-e-a-l-l-y l-o-n-g t-i-m-e, I became extremely tired of seeing that intensely boring "TS outages" at the top o' the page every time I visited the Tech Forum, and in a moment of Wicked Whimsy, I added the 'r', wondering if/when others would notice it.

So there it is.

I diddit. biggrin.gif

I admittit. devilishgrin.gif

I am completely unrepentant: if I could go back in time, I'd do it again! cool.gif
