It would obviously have been no help to that particular hedgehog
(12,000 miles away and dead...) but the UK has its own hedgehog hospital,
St Tiggywinkles. At least, it started off with hedgehogs and now deals with all sorts of British wildlife. Remember we don't have anything like the big cats, bears and so on that you have over there!
It's named after Mrs Tiggywinkle, a hedgehog character in the children's Peter Rabbit books, written by
Beatrix Potter. Known by millions in the UK but don't know if the fame spread outside these shores.
