My wife, for those who are interested!
« on: May 28, 2008, 07:58:17 AM »
She had her surgery yesterday (bilateral mastectomy) and came through it okay except for elevated blood sugar which left her shut up in recovery for a couple extra hours.  She was out of my sight for 7 hours but I don't know how much of that was actually the surgery.  We won't know about the spread of the cancer from the biopsies (sp?) they took until next monday at least.  I've got to get stirred around and get back over to the hospital!

Give her our best wishes for a speedy recovery, John, and we all hope that the biopsies come back ok!

John, I had been thinking about her, and you of course. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I'm sure it is a stressful time for both of you. I hope it does you some good to continue being an active part of our modest community. smile.gif

Me two! smile.gif

My prayers will include you both. Also that you will find this time of uncertainty to be a time to grow closer and more loving, with your wife and your children! salute.gif

I'd like to add my voice to the rest of the Chorus here, John.

My best wishes and thoughts for both of you through what must be a very difficult time for your family.

Here's wishing for a speedy and cancer-free recovery!!!

All the best,

Up right now with stuffy nose, acid reflux, and I admit, a bad case of missing her!  They're supposed to kick her loose later this morning if everything's on the up and up with her!  This is not an easy surgery to watch a loved one go through but I went into it with her with open eyes and kept telling her I wanted her to do whatever it took to have the best chance of survival!  I thank you all for the thoughts and prayers; guess that was what I was looking for!

Like ChrisK I'm joining the chorus of good wishes - this is a caring forum and I'm sure many who don't post are thinking of you both. There are situations where sometimes it's almost impossible to know what to say.

From past experience (is there some other kind?! Thinking.gif ), I've found the quickest way to get my wife up and going again, is to make all the meals for her. blush-anim-cl.gif

Gunug,

If your wife craves something edible and mailable from Britain, let me know and I will see if I can find it in a Shetland supermarket.

Marmite?  Gingernuts?

Let me know

Love to both
Fx
