Thanks everyone - all efforts hugely appreciated!

Luckly Kimmer has stepped into the breach and has very kindly offered to order me a pair and then send them on.  We are just negotiating terms with UK and US and Converse shoe sizes at the moment.  That is one complicated system on its own.

If anyone wants to have a stab..... Floss is a UK 7, a EUR 40.5 so what is she in US Converse terms (womens Converse seem to take 2 sizes smaller than US normal).  My calculations are a Converse 7 (US 9 womens).  I have emailed Converse.com and am awaiting their reply.  I have a feeling I will "await" forever but am prepared to be amazed.

So, thanks again for all your help.  It is lovely to have friends "across the pond".

One of the shoe guys I talked to said it was hard for him to get those.  He also said they were first worn
by Meadowlark Lemon of the Globetrotters; if you can't trust a shoe guy who can you trust!
