All of which reminded me of this "sand artist."
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

No Kim i didn't but I do attend the local events. I used to work with a dude who had accumulated a few trophies through the years and I got to lug sand and learn a bit about the process. A friend who is the pilot for a popular comedian joined me last year for a frolic at the Don for their annual event and he almost forgot his departing time. The ride to the airport was as memorable as they get!  toothgrin.gif

Back when my kids had a sandbox the most fun I ever had in it was cleaning up after roaming cats had been in it!  getsick.gif

Following that new experience, I bet you put a lid on the thing, eh? The trouble is getting young children to put the lid back on when they're finished playing in the sand, whereas the following is an example of the lid-covered vessel being placed where the kidos can't reach it... cookies.gif

Remember the fad of colored sand designs and pictures in glass bottles? I made some of those with plants added to give to friends. Then the glass factory near here went out of business...

Here's my other personal experience with sand.  I made it about 30 odd years ago to fill a large space on my living room wall. It's 4 feet long and made of masonite on which I glued sand that I colored with powdered paint. The sand is construction grade so it has little stones in it adding to the look I was trying to achieve of a cave wall.

Very cool, Kris.

We had one of those sand/oil pictures. We'd turn it every day and see what it "created". Interesting for about a month. wink.gif

oooow ....Cave Women.... ug. smile.gif
I like it, it reminds of those old caves you often see on NatGeo. I've seen a few in the desert, not with sand but the same theme. Sand gives it another dimension.  thumbup.gif

Does anyone else see some Cyrillic letters (Увеԓичить) in the image of the image in SB's "quote?". Strange! Thinking.gif
