One does not have to be wealthy to purchase "I Am Rich". What people buy is merely a reflection of their priorities. That's always been true, and always will be. .....
We have the newest* biggest*, and nicest** house in our neighborhood. In the garage, there is a Chevy compact and an Olds minivan. Down the street, in the garage of a tiny "cracker box" house, there are two Lexi.
*lot was vacant because the previous house on it burned to the ground, and it depends on where you draw the line. A newer, bigger (but boring) house was built several streets over from us.
**We've had so many people, adults and kids(!), just passing buy and they say "Nice house!" Well, the other houses are 30 years older and with very little design flair. Ok, I'm being kind. Many of the other houses are dull, drab and boring boxes.
.... Of course, for those struggling to make ends meet, the main priorities are things like food and shelter. For those who have discretionary income, the first paragraph above is more applicable.
