iPhone 3G Bugs A Combination Of Software and The Cell Network

Having had a history of bad experiences with at&t I figure they are maximizing profits by not building the necessary infrastructure needed to carry their offerings, but that just my first suspicion. Apple is also capable of shorting the consumer in its rush to compete in a market that is years ahead of them. Ease of use is their selling point so the easier it is to use the more use it will most likely have which puts demand on a system that is resistant in investing in their network without guaranties.

This is the problem with exclusive Provider Contracts and will most likely not be resolved until Apple gets off the at&t wagon.

I know, from engineers for T-Mobile that if Apple had not extended it's contract of exclusion to at&t that they would have made investments in their network to compete with at&t, to accommodate the iPhone's demand. So by extending the exclusivity of the iPhone provider, competition and innovation has been stepped on.

You'll also notice that it is the competitive countries that are doing the research and finding the problems, not someone here in the nation who is holding Apple up as a Holy Grail. If you were to have an iPhone next to a Blackberry anywhere around these parts, on any network, you would see for yourself how badly the iPhone performs. Not only against Blackberry either, against the Blackjack, Nokia or some of the LG products. It's just not up to speed, and it's only the Shinny sales pitches and ease of use that has even allowed it on the stage.

Cultural trends are pushing this product to the chagrin of many unhappy customers.

That is a good article, it reflects what folks around here are experiencing with the iPhone, service and company. You can see it in their eyes when my blackberry moves data at twice the pace. They know I'm a mac advocate, and in some cases, brought them to the brand, but not the iPhone. It would be perfect for us to use a hand held mac product, especially for Jane who doesn't have the time or interest to involve herself in technology. She wants it to work, simply and efficiently, and will pay a premium for the product and or service. But Apple doesn't have a product that meets our needs, and it's as simple as that. They're not in the same league as other companies offerings, but through the magic of ads, have convinced an eager population, hungry for status, that the iPhone is a suitable replacement for the Blackberry or Trio....you name it, and it just hasn't panned out. If you want pretty pictures or music with the ability to flip your view around, sure the iPhone can do that, but it's not moving data, or pushing mail with equal amount of reliability that can be had with cheaper phones and better networks. my 2ยข

As mentioned elsewhere...<Article by Ted Landau>
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
