UNchecked. Another thing I can't get the prefs to do is to remember that I don't want that %$@# 3 inch wide, tall as the screen wasted! That where I usually keep my pallette floating window (which does
not float above that space). There
is a very tiny little close-this-annoying-pallette space-if-you-can-find-me button...

This "feature" keeps the images from being seen as too dark/contrasty/something by having that annoying
white Mac border.
However, it appears that PC users don't like it any better than we do, Elements 7 (right, PC only) has an option to vary that greyness.
I just wish Adobe would get busy learning how to program for the future and stop trying to re-invent the wheel!
