I'm amazed at some of the ads that are now turning up at 6 in the evening. I'm glad I don't have to explain ED or "male enhancement" to a 5 year old.
(My 13 year old thinks they're hilarious)
I love my DVR...no need to watch ads when I never start watch anything in real time!
Canadians were certainly more interested in the US election than they were in our own last month. We had record LOW turnouts - we had the choice between the status quo who nobody really loved who had called an election nobody wanted, and a party leader who had absolutely no charisma, difficulty not mangling English (first language being French) and a platform nobody really understood. There were at least two other choices in every riding - but neither of the alternative parties (NDP and Greens in most of Canada and Bloc in Quebec) had a prayer of forming a government, so in many ridings outside of Quebec it was a choice between the Conservatives and Liberals. A lot of people obviously decided not to bother making that choice.
Canada, like much of the rest of the world, was clearly rooting for Obama and there was much jubilation here last night.
I certainly hope that he doesn't disappoint, and that Americans realize that he is the president,
not a miracle worker.
