Perhaps you need a "URLMP" for iTunes?!
I use iTunes about twice a week to burn a CD. And then delete the tracks! I don't even
own that many CDs! But I was thinking there was a column that listed the CD name.
I'm just a fan of list view, at least in iTunes and especially in the Finder.
Anyway, I'm sure there will be some who will benefit from your trick to make iTunes more user-friendly.
I just opened iTunes to see what all the excitement was about. I think I see what you were trying to get rid of, in the "Browser" part. Wonder if your 'fix' changed the same 'problem in the "List" view? There is a space at the top of the list, that I usually keep minimized or hidden, but it has three boxes, "Genre, Artist and Album." If you are looking for another way to look for stuff in your group of Albums, maybe that would help. Just not sure what you want to do (other than keep that stupid "Genre" stuff hidden!).
Would you mind checking "List" view and see if the "Genre" section is deleted there, also? Please! Never mind!
What I thought you were calling a "Browser" is actually part of the "List" view, which is what I keep hidden! What I
thought you were referring to is actually called a "Grid" view. So,
both the List view, with the Browser showing, and the Grid view have the wasted space for the Genre data. Glad I finally figured out what
I am talking about!
