Kelly, one of the things that makes TS a different place (aside from Bill
) is that when you ask a question you never get "Why don't you just buy a newer Mac" or "Well, what did you think would happen when you hit "ok" to reformat???" You get answers. Sometimes you get more than one answer--and sometimes they aren't the same answer. But you get answers, not attitude.
And when the answers are pretty darn complicated to many of us, there's usually somebody like Tacit who has the rare skill of being able to translate it into normal words. (When Tacit begins an explanation with "What your hard drive is saying to AppleWorks is 'Yo AppleWorks, I need more RAM'..." I know eventually it'll make sense.) On other situations where there's not an easy way to explain it, for example all things terminal with OSX, somebody like kps will say the words that I need to hear "You really don't need to worry about this, or even understand it--just do the upgrade, sit back, and enjoy the OS." And then there are the many private emails of support and help that go on behind the scenes. Oh yeah, let's not forget that one guy who finds links to sites to just about any issue that comes up here.
Bottom line, no TS does not make me feel stupid. When I need to feel that way, I can go to other sites. Or just let my teenage daughters look at me with amazement that they've mastered all the knowledge of the universe and I still no nothing.
