Importing from Address Book to Entourage. How?
« on: May 24, 2003, 07:04:36 PM »
I can't figure out how to get the information from my OSX address book into Entourage. I'd also like to be able to import my iCal data into Entourage as well. Can anyone give me an assist? I can't seem to find the proper files in either iCal or Address book to export to Entourage. Are they exported by vcard or txt files? thanx.gif

Jim, there is an AppleScript written by Paul Berkowitz, called "Sync Entourage - Address Book" which may do the trick. It's available for download from his website

I just downloaded it myself and will give it a whirl.

Yep, it works! smile.gif

However, there is a small catch - it's shareware for the full version. You can download it and try it out for free for 14 days, but it will only sync the first 50 addresses in your address book and keep those up to date (for 14 days). If you want the full kit and kaboodle, which also syncs groups (and I am thinking very seriously of getting it, since I manage an email list of over 150 people) it's $15, paid through Kagi.

Just found another (free) script - which exports the addresses as a tab-delimited file, so that they can be imported into Entourage.  It's here:

Not quite as full-featured, but if it is a one-shot import you're looking for, rather than constant upkeep, it might do the trick. Looks like a tad more work than Paul's script though.
