airport extreme 64 bit network
« on: September 11, 2009, 01:14:18 PM »
Does anybody know why a  8 core Mac Pro OS 10.6.1 would connect to a Airport Extreme network using 32 bit mode and not a 64 bit mode?

This may explain why...
QUOTE
Here is the fact, NO mac currently using an Atheros based AirPort card will work in 64bit mode in 10.6.0 until/unless apple fixes the driver and cannot be disputed, so, MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac-Mini and MacPro owners who have an Atheros based Airport card and rely on wireless connectivity have no wireless in 64bit mode although the Mac-Mini (1,1) is working so it must be booting in 32bit.

ewwww, that's a tasty morsel! Thanks

It was a tough search, with a 64 bit kernel and a 64 bit WEP code in the mix. wink.gif
