I understand that Topeka
did change their name to "Google" for a day last month, trying, as dozens of other cities are, to be one of the ten finalists to be 'wired' free-of-charge by Google. Memphis has applied but I think my next-door-neighbor, Germantown has a much better chance: much smaller area, more affluent base, only Apple Store within 200 miles, etc. But they wold never stoop to such shenanigans as changing their name! They won't even let Apple light up the Apple logo on that store front! "No lit images of food allowed" in the signage codes.
Do ya think the whole council uses Windows?
Of course, with that kind of attitude, I can imagine the hassles of getting a wireless system installed when the antennae can only be six inches high, earth colored and completely hidden, in all seasons, by foliage...
