They obviously were just shopping for themselves (and maybe for Dad this Sunday).  Otherwise they would have taken a whole lot more.  yes.gif

This store was lucky, the Mac store about 30 miles from us got everything taken, and the sad part was they had just received a HUGE shipment.
They think there was a connection from somebody who knew about the shipment. But they most likely will never recoup the goods, nor will they catch the guys, it looked pretty darn professional on the security cameras.
Some serial numbers showed up in Northern New England, they sure fenced the goods quickly, and they were untraceable, cash sales and no receipts of course.
Sad, as about 5 people lost their jobs.

Must have been a really slow news day for this to have even made the news. It's what known as a smash-and-grab and they're not uncommon. The thieves who hit the NJ store and stole 23 Macbook Pros, 14 iPhones and 9 iPods in 31 seconds did a whole lot more planning (theirs was smash and grab on a grand scale) and it wasn't the sort of carefully planned theft that wiped out Jane's local Mac reseller. It's why jewelers don't leave stuff in their display windows overnight and why so many stores in big cities have grills that they close at night. I'm actually surprised the Apple Store didn't have stronger glass. (A grill wouldn't have looked good!)

Also, what the heck is an "iTouch smart phone"?? It would be nice if they got the product names right... (and that $599 "smartphone" was undoubtedly an iPhone as well) rolleyes.gif

This actually was the second time this store was hit.  The last time about a year and half ago, they broke the door, but security rounded the corner shortly after they did. They got away...but empty handed!

whistling.gif It was the other guy; I don't know anything 'bout it!  dntknw.gif  It does seriously sound like someone's short list for birthday presents! The iPad and a Macbook Pro on the side!  Hey, do the iPads with wireless have the theft tracing software in the operating system?
