(I wonder how long it will take iFixit to tear one apart and let us know whether the HD is easily user-upgradeable? It LOOKS like it might be possible...)

eek2.gif No more cooling slots!!! I hope the logo is flush with the surface so it doesn't empair getting the fried egg off the 'platter!' rofl.gif

That thing is pretty thin! Judy had to take some pants back to get a smaller size for me, but it's getting tougher to keep reducing as fast as Apple's devices are!!!

An aside, went to the local paper yesterday, in my hometown, to give them info on a memorial service for my recently deceased aunt. While I'm sitting there, I see the back of a mini! I mentioned that to the lady typing the info into her computer (the mini, no doubt), and she said, "Oh yes, my husband is a Mac fanatic!" And she then said, "We're a Mac company." or something like that. Sure enough, I look around and see at least nine more desktop machines! Not sure what they were, could even be G5's, all I could see were the aluminum bodied, handles on each end boxes. Not bad for a small town, very old newspaper. I remember delivering for them before electronic calculators had been invented! rofl.gif

And, on the other side...I'm not sure I'd want to try 'upgrading' that mini-mini! Probably need a jewelers tool set to handle the teeny-tiny screws! Not to mention a good magnifying lens! inspect.gif And, yet, the power supply is now inside! Probably uses smaller electrons... dntknw.gif

The one thing that I wanted to know "immediately" when I first saw this topic "is the price the same, cheaper or more expensive."  Actually, the only thing that I really wanted to know was if it had gotten cheaper.  I'm used to instantaneous answers and I'm sure that I'm all the worse for that.  sad.gif  Inspection of the current price leads me to assume that it is cheaper by maybe $250! eusa_dance.gif

I haven't kept abreast of their prices, but I thought the cheapest model was more than a dollar below $700... dntknw.gif

My fault for the misunderstanding: educational pricing on the lowest level Mini-MAC is $649 (2.4GHz : 320GB) I think I was hallucinating from the Camphor and Menthol fumes from the stuff for my sore shoulder! wacko.gif I did think that $429 for a refurbished "Mac mini 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo" and I can probably slide it into this lovely Gadget Pouch Apple has on their clearance rack!  toothgrin.gif  It really does help to plan ahead!
