A 'tether strap' for iPhone
« on: June 27, 2010, 08:17:47 AM »
On my old Samsung phone, there was a tiny hole in the case where you could put a tethering strap in. It had a connector, so you could easily unhook it. But I left mine on all the time.
Why? Because I did not want to drop my phone!  And I could carry it around my neck if I had no pockets at the time.
I have come very very close to dropping my iPhone when taking it out of my pocket or picking it up off the kitchen counter, so was thinking that a tether for it would save a lot of injured phones.
I read a forum on what to do with a dropped or wet iPhone, and it seems that lots and lots of people have dropped their iPhones, several into the toilet, ick.

My waterproof case has a tether on it, but I only use that case when we are kayaking.
Any ideas?  Not receptive to my husband's idea of drilling a tiny hole in my case. Though this might be the answer.

Duct tape. You should always have a roll of that in the house and car at all times! yes.gif

Duct tape! I should have thought of it.

By the way, did you see the pictures of the little plane that crashed somewhere that there was no way to get it out to get it repaired, and the guy fixed it all up with about 50 rolls of duct tape.
It was floating around the net for a while.

Didn't see that one, but I've flown aircraft with a special kind of 'duct tape' on them. It was called 'speed tape.' Extra sticky glue to keep it attached at several hundred miles an hour. Nice bright, shiny surface, also. smile.gif Mianly used where a screw or fastener might have been missing...just something to help streamline the area...

Was pretty interesting, looks like it was true, as the pictures didn't look photoshopped.
I delete all the stuff friends send, so its not here sadly, as it was pretty cute.
I wonder if we could Google it?

OK, so the aircraft wasn't really damaged structurally. The covering on that fuselage is strictly for aerodynamics, it's usually just silk or rayon covered with paint (which shrinks as it dries). Even the windows serve the same purpose, of course, being clear plastic does make visibility better... doh.gif
