Welcome to TS, Pinguino!  welcome.gif

Your iMac is having a kernel panic. This could be caused by any number of different things. Have you done anything new? Installed new hardware (peripherals?) or software? There are many things that could cause a kernel panic - for some info and solutions, check here:

I'm not sure what is causing the first problem on the G4 - I could only find one other reference to something similar and the person reinstalled X and all was fine after that. It is possible that your OS has become corrupted. You could do an archive and reinstall.

Which version of X, BTW?

on your other mac, what version of OS are you running?  Sounds like an extension conflict, but only if you're in 9.x or before.

Yup, dat's da one, Kelly! I tried all sorts of searches, but it would seem that it isn't a common complaint!

Odd that both these machines would start to have major system problems....makes one wonder if there is any connection.

And Jennie - that message that Pinguino is seeing is an OS X kernel panic message. I don't recall anything in OS 9 in four different languages.  wacko.gif (hmmm...doesn't the system remember which language you have installed? Or does it think that in YOUR panic you'll need multilingual reinforcement - sort of the written equivalent of talking louder to someone who doesn't have a good grasp of the language? Hey Petra...do you get Swedish messages or just the 4 standard? wink.gif )

Paddy. I believe it pertains somwhow to the UniNorth Bridge Chipset. smile.gif

Something your husband would understand.

Whatever it is. It's not something you want to see in a message. smile.gif
