Sneakers has had a lifelong dream to catch a salmon, and it's one of the reasons we moved here -- so he could fish. Then he got sick and almost died and now he's well and out fishing, but no go. Until today. Up at oh-dark-thirty, I dropped him off at the dock and he, his fishing bud, Linda, and guide Ryan went up the Alsea River. Sneakers is no longer a "salmon virgin". LOL!
First was the coho, which was "great fun to catch" says Sneakers. Back it went as they aren't legal to keep here. Then the keeper. A nice chinook salmon. And guess what? This baby is bigger than the winning fish from the U-Da-Man competition last weekend. Whoot!
And may I say, I was soooooooo excited for my hubby. When Linda dropped him off, I walked out on the porch and asked how they did and Sneakers held up his prize and I
WHOOPED right from the porch. I'm sure most of our neighbors heard me. I was so darn happy for him. Still am. Anyhow, here's some pics of the river at sun up and the fish.
