Real Audio samples no good any more?

I have short music samples on my website made with Real Audio.

A few years ago maybe they were useful but now I'm not certain
that many people can open them easily. Does anyone know
whether there is an easy way to transform them into MP3 format
(or any format for that matter that is better than their current format)?

I don't know if others have trouble with Real Audio - I didn't have any difficulty with the files on your site, David - but MP3 is definitely a more widely used format these days.

I tried one of your files to see how it worked - worked fine and put the file into my iTunes Library. I guess where it ends up depends on your own settings (clearly, mine spot MP3s and stick 'em in iTunes!).

I don't know if it will convert Real Audio, but it lists a whole bunch of types.

Zamzar will work too - see list of supported file types/conversions at http://www.zamzar.com/conversionTypes.php - but you have to give them your email addy and they then send you a link to the converted file which you can then download. Just a few more steps that aren't necessary with the site I linked to in my first post. Zamzar is worth bookmarking though for those oddball file types one comes across occasionally.
