I have a 333 mhz iMac w/256 mb RAM; 40 GB HD, 3 partitions, 7,7, and 26 GB. I've installed a harmoni 600 mhz processor upgrade and reinstalled 9.2.2 and 10.2.6 on the first partition and all is well. I installed 8.6 on the second partition for some old games and some school programs my wife uses. On the second partition I've installed the Epson printer drivers and two updates but the printer won't stay chosen. Open the chooser, select 740, select usb 1, close chooser. Can't print. Go back to chooser, again, the available port column is empty, select 740, there's the port, and so on. Did I miss a USB update or something? Everything on the first partition prints when started up from that disc. Thanks!

If it's a new Install of OS 8.6 did you do the Corrupted Font Fix?

Check your date and time settings. If they are not correct, you probably need to replace the PRAM battery (3.6-volt lithium, 1/2 AA size). That battery also saves your Chooser settings. Available at Radio Shack.

The date and time don't change, as the battery's about a year old. I'll run some more diagnostics. The fonts seem to be ok.
