Karl,

With great sympathy.

Thanks for sharing her life with us.  Indeed a great tribute.

May the Lord comfort and keep you during this time of need.

The cremation ceremony is later on this afternoon. The kind words and thoughts on these pages will be with me.

Thanks.

Karl - Sorry to hear of your loss; but if anything could've served
as an introduction to someone who I didn't know your tribute
would do it!  Lovely!  Kind of wish I'd done something like this
about my folks; kind of late now!

Best wishes to you and your family!

gunug (John),

It's never too late, man. You can still do it for your folks. When my dad died, the internet wasn't public (still ARPA) but why should that stop me if I wanted to do it now. My mom didn't want an obituaty in the papers, that was her wish...but she didn't say anything about a web site. wink.gif

Thanks for the roses SB. smile.gif

Gunug... you know, kps is right! smile.gif
I don't know what "state" the internet was at in 1990, except that I wasn't part of it at all until 1997...

I'd been meaning to do this for awhile now, this tribute spurred me to "get with it"...

Thus: My Dad
with more pride than I can say... smile.gif

It's never too late for these things...

kps... I hope I'm not intruding, please tell me if so... but I'd like to see more people do these things now that we have a wonder like the internet...

God Bless...

Intruding? Don't be silly. wink.gif No intrusion at all, Diane, glad you posted.  smile.gif

I think it's great!

IAWK&D, Ganug, it's never to late.

Very nice Karl and Dreambird, thank you so much for sharing.

You two got me thinking of my brother again.  You've inspired me to go back and edit some of his pages.

Brother Bosco, I miss him.

Like Dreambird, I hope I'm not intruding, Karl.

Not at all, Al. I like the direction this thread is taking and if it evolves into others posting tributes to their loved ones, then that's wonderful.

So, if anyone wishes to post a tribute to a loved one, feel free to do so. smile.gif

Karl:

You are such an important member of this amazing "family" and you honor us all by sharing that lovely and moving page to your Mother's memory. Thank you, sincerely.

I have been out-of-touch with TS for a couple of weeks and only saw your posting this evening. It reminded me of the thoughful lines of Mary Frye, which i hope may offer you some solace during difficult days . . .

- - - - -

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.

I am the song that never ends,
I am the love of a dear friend,
I am the child who comes to rest
In arms of Father who knows him best.

When you see the sunset fair,
I am the scented evening air
I am the joy of tasks well done
I am the glow of the setting sun.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
