Safari 5.1 pdf Issue or maybe Lion??
« on: August 08, 2011, 12:17:51 PM »

Safari 5.1 opens the 1st page of this 12 page PDF here:  http://northidahoflycasters.org/images_alan/2011Jul.pdf
however it does not see this as a PDF.  Moving the file to the desktop  the tag shows   .webloc.  Adobe reader 9 won't open it,  Changed the tag to  .pdf   and Adobe still does not like it.  It all works just lovely in Firefox. I am not sure when the change took place whether it was the upgrade to Safari or Lion.  I do not go here too often but it has worked in the past.    Clues????

Same in Safari 5.0.5 — shows doc as pdf, and shows 1st page in select, but doesn't open. — OS X 10.6.8

Shows: [attachment=2292:Screen_s...24.47_PM.jpg]

File saved on desktop shows pdf and opens fine with every thing except Safari.

???? Come on Apple!!!

I'm running Adobe Reader 10, OS 10.6.8, Safari 5.1.

The PDF file opened in my browser just fine. I then went: FILE / SAVE (or Command - "S") and saved to desktop. Shows as a pdf and opens just fine in Adobe Reader 10.

Also, if I right-click on the link in your post I can select "Save linked file to downloads" and it does and I can open it from there with Adobe Reader 10.

It works fine with 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1. I use PDF Browser PlugIn.

That fixed it.  On the download page (fixes) it addresses the  problem with 5.1 specifically

Opened fine in 5.1 and Lion for me. Although I thought I'd set PDFs to open in Preview... Thinking.gif

Dragging a browser page to the Desktop simply creates a "weblog" file which is basically an alias to the URL. Double-clicking it should open a browser and take you to the page/site.
