I have been looking at the Canon MX882 printer but some of the reviews stated that the black ink cartridges (high capacity) did not last long enough. Anyone have one of these ?

No OEM inkjet carts (nor OEM toner carts) last long enough! laughhard.gif After all, that's where the money is, the machines are just "carriers!" wink.gif

Actually, many OEM carts have foam pads in them. Supposedly they are to prevent foaming. Actually, they are mainly to fill up the cart with anything besides ink. That's one reason I never recommend any printer that doesn't already have a secondary market in high quality replacement carts (filled or re-fillable).

Non-OEM cartridges are indeed available for that printer. Google "Canon MX882 compatible ink cartridges" or "CLI-226" etc. and you'll find lots of options for about a third of the price of the Canon branded cartridges.

I've been very happy with my Canon all-in-one, an MP600. I often use non-OEM inks in it (123inkcartridges.ca being my vendor of choice).
