New app called App-titude, cant find it
« on: October 13, 2011, 07:46:03 AM »
Just read about a new app, called app-titude, which I can't find.  It is supposed to connect you to a customer service number for about 2700 different companies. You enter your phone nyumber and bypass their phone tree, and you get an immediate call back from the company's customer service department.
Was a tiny article in Kiplinger magazine.

Anybody heard of it? Sounds like a good idea if there is such a thing.

Think you have it confused with another app, Jane. I *think* the one you're looking for is called Phone Tree Navigator:

Other apps that do similar things:

Another one called Fonolo is a little different:

That sure looks like the one!  In the magazine, they did not name it properly, they called it app-titude and that was not it by a long shot.
Thank you,
Jane

Those phone trees are getting "brains!" In the past, simply pressing zero several times was enough for them to 'shed their leaves" and connect you to a human. Now they sometimes simply say they can't recognize a response and hang up! I take special umbrage at that tactic as totally unacceptable and abusive and take more effort to report my displeasure once I finally get contact with the company for what is usually the last one. To me, it expresses an attitude of "You are fortunate that we are even willing to answer the phone! Your business is not our primary concern. We are busy but we know that you have all the time in the world. If you'd like to hear this message again, tough. We are now hanging up." rant.gif
