iPad Calendar App no sync with iCal
« on: October 13, 2011, 04:57:17 PM »
I discovered this morning that "Her" Calendar app on the iPad, where she keeps her appointments, itinerary etc, etc, etc had NOT synced with  iCal on her MBP. She politely informed me that " Oh it hasn't done that for quite a while"

It syncs everything else just lovely. I spent 3-4 hours attempting to solve this little problem, Unsuccessfully. Is there something other than the iTunes Sync stuff that needs to be addressed???  I am not trying to tie to any other application, just the MBP.

She had updated iTunes to 10.5 and the iPad to os5 this morning, but advised that this  had been an issue for weeks or even months maybe.

There is only one calendar, but no matter what I try, iCal does not update to what is on the iPad.  The Apple support forums are almost impossible to get to today,  I am sure due to the servers accommodating  10.7.2 and os5.

I feel it is something incredibly simple but it has escaped me so far.    Any suggestions???

The most obvious time to check, of course, is that the "Sync iCal Calendars" has its checkbox 'checked.' Then, if the "Selected calendars" radio button is selected, there should be at least one actual calendar check marked. Since I don't have an iPad, I don't know if there are any settings on it that could affect this (lack) of behavior. On my iPhone, I don't know of anything that would prevent syncing, as long as the device shows up in iTunes, of course. wink.gif Hope this helps!

Thats the way I thot it was suppose to work.   It  Don't, at least it hasn't.   Guess I will just have to wait until I can get on some of the forums, see if I am alone.   Since it hasn't been working for a while guess she won't  miss it.

Thanks

Daryl

Does the Device backups show any iPad backups? (iTunes Prefs->Devices->Device backups: list)

Is the "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically checked? (iTunes Prefs->Devices)
